The Arsin workshops — part of the same effort that carries spinning, dyeing and weaving into under-served regions of Iran — are dedicated to the restoration, reweaving and specialist washing of handmade rugs, so they can be handed down rather than replaced.

Reweaving
Knot-by-knot reweaving of damaged areas, matching wool and dye to the original design so the repair disappears into the pattern.

Rebuilding worn or missing fringes, restoring the rug's edge to its original form.

Restoration of old and family carpets — from Sultanabad and Bijar to Heris, Qashqai and Farahan — with the same care Arsin brings to reviving these classic designs.
Specialist hand-washing
Specialist hand-washing that resettles the colors and restores softness to the pile. The first washing of any rug purchased from Arsin is complimentary.

When should a rug come in for restoration?
Many kinds of damage to a handmade rug look small at first, but spread with time. These are usually signs that it is time for restoration:
- Fringes that are worn, thinning, or coming apart from the weave
- A hole, tear, or looseness in the weave
- Flattened, worn pile along high-traffic paths
- Uneven fading or set-in stains
- A musty smell after long storage
- Before selling, gifting, or passing the rug on to the next generation
